It was September of 2007, when Irene was looking around Match.com, losing hope in the male species. All of a sudden, Match.com produced a match for her! Irene looked at the profile of Roman1128 and thought he was very cute. She decided to wink at him and see what happens.
After coming home from a bad date, Roman logged in to Match.com to see who he could wink at now when he noticed that something odd happened; someone actually winked at him instead! It was from very cute girl that went by profile name Irachka12884. Like any normal guy Roman jumped into the picture folder to see what she looks like, before even reading her profile. Every picture he saw made him more attracted to Irene. Without even reading the profile, Roman winked back at Irene. Then Roman decided to read what she had to say. After reading her profile including her likes and dislikes, he could not believe how many similarities they shared. A few things instantly jumped to his mind: first that she was Jewish, second, she would be able to communicate with his parents since she was also Russian and lastly that she loved sushi. With a big urge, Roman e-mailed Irene right away without waiting for her response. That was probably the smartest move he ever made!
Roman and Irene spoke on the phone for many hours everyday before their first date. It seemed like they never ran out of things to talk about. By the time Roman picked Irene up for their first date, they were both very excited to meet each other. Things turned out well, considering their first date lasted for 8 hours! They just did not want the evening to end. After going for dinner, taking a walk on the beach, and going to play pool and have some drinks, Roman dropped Irene off at her house, walked her to her front door and gave her a very sweet first kiss.
Roman convinced Irene to go to the beach in the fairly cold weather on April 26th, 2008. It was fairly common for them to go for a walk on the boardwalk in Long Branch, where they went on their second date. He did not even give her enough time to make herself presentable after spending the entire day studying for Graduate school. They stopped at Dunkin Donuts, as per their ritual and got some coffees. Then they went walking around the boardwalk and eventually down onto the sand. After walking around and freezing their tooshes off, they stopped on the beach in front of the spot were they shared their first “real” kiss and Roman told Irene to look to the side; she glanced but didn’t see anything. Then Roman pointed to something on the sand….Irene began crying as soon as she saw “Will you marry me, I love you” written in the sand. By the time she turned around, Roman was getting down on one knee with a ring and asking her to marry him! Irene said “Yes” through the tears and accepted the ring and then hugged and kissed Roman nearly to death….
