Heather and I (Alex) started dating in November of 2006. We were the cliché of the phrase “opposites attract”. She was the outgoing, spontaneous type, where as I was shy and laid back. Despite our very different personalities, we could not get enough of each other and immediately fell in love. Only three months later, we were engaged and began preparing for our wedding. We love animals, and share our cozy Jersey shore home with 4 cats and 1 dog. Heather is a caring veterinary technician and I’m a computer programmer.
I decided to try my hand in photography after getting my hands on a very nice camera a family member had brought with her to a birthday party. Since childhood, Heather has always had a great deal of interest in photography…. where I had every hobby in the world, so I thought, “why not have another?”. Pretty much any hobby that allows you to buy expensive equipment was a hobby for me. It was not too long after that we bought our first SLR and photography became our obsession. Our skills grew quickly and our friends and family started to take note of our abilities. The thoughts of starting an event photography business were becoming more realistic as time went on.
Our wedding finally arrived in May 2008. After being disappointed with our own wedding photographer, we vowed to go above and beyond. We agreed that after the honeymoon, we would start a photography business together. This blog is a journal of our hopeful road to success together.
