LBI Family Portraits

Alex and I were headed down to Long Beach Island to take these family portraits when the sky opened up and we were stuck in a massive thunderstorm, complete with flooding and power outages. I was sad to have to call and cancel the photos. Since the family was down at their beach house for the week, we were on a tight schedule to try again. Although Alex was unavailable for the following day, I was able to do it. The next day the weather was 100% cooperative and the pictures were exactly what I was hoping for.

Wedding Day: Susie and Justin

You may recognize Justin and Susie from their “Christmas” engagement photos. Well, the time came, and now they are husband and wife. Justin and Susie had their reception at a beautiful country club. You can see that we really had a great time using a golf theme for their wedding portraits. I must admit that one of my favorite parts of the day was riding around in a golf cart! (yes, they let us drive one.) after spending the day with them, I can honestly say that they are absolutely perfect for each other. They were a lot of fun to work with. We are sad to say that after the wedding, they moved out of state. We would like to wish them the best of luck in their new endeavor and all the happiness in the world in their new marriage.

Wedding Day: Alina and Mark

Four and a half years ago a nice girl named Alina met a nice boy named Mark. It was easy for Alina to fall in love with Mark because he was tall, good looking, and had a nice car. Mark easily fell in love with Alina because she was tall, good looking and was many years younger than him. Together they were the perfect couple. Mark and Alina shared many adventures together throughout the years. They’ve loved traveling to exotic places like Italy, Montréal, and Brighton Beach. They’ve gotten to know each others families and still stuck around. The most important contribution they have made together is raise a small black pug named Oscar, who is miraculously still alive. Oscar takes after his father because he is quiet, snores, and has a lot of body hair, and takes after his mother because he sleeps 14 hours a day, is obsessed with food and loves shoes.Mark is interested in real estate development and enjoys buying dilapidated homes and turning them into palaces, Alina supports his ventures because she gets to pick out the fixtures and paint colors for the homes and considers herself a vital contributor to the project. Mark is known for his thoughtfulness which can be illustrated by his diamond earring birthday gift to Alina who did not have her ears pierced. Alina is known for being very supportive of individuality and only makes Mark match his wardrobe to hers two to three times a week. They can often be seen wearing the same bright orange crocs on their way down to Deal on the Jersey Shore, Alina’s home town. Mark and Alina tell people they go to the Shore because they love the ocean but what they really mean is they go for the food; ice cream and hot dogs (in that order). Together they also love music, whether it be flamenco guitar, Italian love songs or classic rock and enjoy ballroom dancing together.Mark has always maintained an air of knowledge and strength which has balanced Alina’s spontaneous creativity. His consistent stability and quiet power have been the inspiration for her passion and imagination. Together they have grown up, developed a deep respect for one another and have developed a vision for a loving home for their future. Mark and Alina have always been there for one another emotionally through all of lifes ups and downs and never wavered in their love and complete commitment to one another even through the hardest of times. Together they share their love of Judaism, great food, excellent music, and overall dedication to their family and each other.

Alina and Mark’s wedding was spectacular. We had a lot of fun. They were one of the most fun couples we have ever worked with. We wish them a happy, healthy life together.

John’s First Communion

It was certainly Communion month for us! As you may notice from these pictures, John’s Communion was at the same hall as Erin’s Communion. Neat coincidence huh? This week was much cooler and was unfortunately raining, but that didn’t stop any of the fun inside! It was a great day of family, friends, food, music and even back flips. Don’t forget it was filled with pictures as well! Here are our best shots of the day…

Erin’s First Communion

It was a scalding 95-degree day, which was very unusual for this time of year. I found this very interesting considering the same thing happened for my first communion, sixteen years ago. We spent as little time as possible getting the outdoor shots so that Erin could get inside and enjoy the nice, cool air conditioning. Erin was beautiful all dressed up and her family threw a great party. We were happy to be a part of their special day. Here is a sample of Erin’s portraits and some of our favorite party pictures.
